New Data on the Occurrence of Scarabaeoid Beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea) in Serbia

The Serbian fauna of the superfamily Scarabaeoidea is relatively well-known compared to neighbouring countries. Many common species known from Serbia’s countries are not recorded in Serbia, despite richness country’s habitats, such as high-mountain meadows, pastures, deep gorges, riverbanks (including exceptionally valuable sandy banks Danube) and old forests. Therefore, we aim supplement current information on distribution scarabaeoid beetles. presented beetles were caught during seven expeditions 2013, 2017, 2018, 2019 (two expeditions), 2021, 2022. As a result, 2031 belonging 120 five families (Geotrupidae, Trogidae, Lucanidae, Glaphyridae, Scarabaeidae) observed. In less than two months faunistic study, authors confirmed occurrence Serbia 49.5% previously this country added 13 new that had been recorded: Eulasia pareyssei (Brullé, 1832), Pygopleurus apicalis Melinopterus reyi (Reitter, 1892), Nimbus johnsoni (Baraud, 1976), Planolinoides borealis (Gyllenhal, 1827), Copris hispanus Linnaeus, 1764, C. umbilicatus Abeille de Perrin, 1901, Cheironitis furcifer (P. Rossi, 1792), Onthophagus dellacasai Pittino & Mariani, 1981, O. similis (Scriba, 1790), Chaetonyx schatzmayri 1946, Holochelus costulatus (Frivaldszky, 1835), Omaloplia corcyrae 1965). Eight one subspecies typical for Balkan Peninsula also found: Jekelius punctulatus (Jekel, 1866), apicalis, P. chrysonotus dellacasai, robustus Schaum, 1862, Ch. schatzmayri, corcyrae, illyrica 1965), Triodontella dalmatica 1962).
